Remittances Climb 10.6 Percent To $19.7 Billion In First Half Of FY26

Pakistan's workers' remittances reached $19.7bn in the first half of FY2025-26, marking a 10.6% increase over the same period last year and reinforcing the role of diaspora inflows in supporting the country's external position.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan, remittance inflows during July-December 2025-26 totalled $19.7bn, compared with $17.8bn in the corresponding months of FY2024-25.

Monthly data show continued momentum. In December 2025, remittances rose 16.5% year-on-year to $3.6bn. On a month-on-month basis, inflows increased by 12.6%.

Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances in December, contributing $813.1m. The United Arab Emirates followed with $726.1m, while the United Kingdom accounted for $559.7m and the United States of America provided $301.7m.

The latest figures indicate sustained growth in overseas workers' remittances during the first half of the fiscal year, underlining their importance as a key component of Pakistan's external financial inflows.
