Pakistan and Morocco have agreed to deepen agricultural cooperation, with the two countries looking to expand collaboration in farm trade, livestock development, capacity building and technical expertise as they seek to strengthen their partnership in food security. Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain met Morocco's Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development and Forests Ahmed El Bouari in Rabat on Tuesday, according to a press release issued by Pakistan's Ministry of National Food Security.

The ministers reviewed existing cooperation between Pakistan and Morocco in agriculture and food security and discussed avenues for broadening bilateral engagement. Agricultural trade was among the areas identified for greater collaboration. The two sides also exchanged views on livestock development, capacity building and the sharing of technical expertise.

The discussions reflected an effort to give greater substance to agricultural relations between the two countries through cooperation in areas where both governments see mutual interest. Pakistan and Morocco reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening these links and agreed to maintain close coordination as they seek to advance the agricultural partnership. The talks were held in what the Pakistani ministry described as a cordial and constructive atmosphere, reflecting the friendly relations between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Morocco. The meeting also opened the way for further high-level engagement. Hussain invited El Bouari to make an official visit to Pakistan at a time convenient to him.

The Moroccan minister welcomed the invitation, according to the statement. Both ministers expressed confidence that continued high-level exchanges could deepen bilateral relations and promote mutually beneficial cooperation in agriculture. The discussions in Rabat therefore centred on broadening an existing relationship rather than announcing specific new projects or investment commitments. Agricultural commerce, livestock, institutional capacity and technical knowledge emerged as the principal areas in which Pakistan and Morocco intend to pursue closer cooperation.
