QUETTA: In a significant move towards enhancing regional cooperation and security, peace jirgas were organized in Balochistan involving tribal elders from the Pak-Afghan border areas of Qamar-ud-Din Karez and Manza Kai. The gatherings aimed to address border management and counter-terrorism efforts. According to Radio Pakistan, the jirgas saw participation from Inspector General Frontier Corps Balochistan, Major General Abid Mazhar, as well as tribal chiefs and local community members from the respective border areas. The discussions focused on collaborative efforts to maintain law and order and improve border management. During the meetings, tribal elders expressed their appreciation for the role played by the Pakistan Army and the Frontier Corps (FC) in establishing peace and security along the border. They commended the efforts of the security forces in managing border issues and combating terrorism. The tribal leaders pledged their full support to the initiatives led by the military and security forces , emphasizing their commitment to tackling border-related challenges and contributing to the ongoing war against terrorism. The peace jirgas highlighted the importance of continued cooperation between local tribes and security agencies to ensure lasting peace in the region.
