Pakistan’s Mobile Phone Imports Fall 3.56% to $140.4m in July

Pakistan spent less on imported mobile phones at the start of the 2026-27 fiscal year. According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), imports of handsets fell by 3.56% year on year to $140.435m in July 2026. In July 2025 the country had imported $145.612m worth of phones, so this year’s figure is about $5.18m lower.

The decline also continued from the previous month. Imports in July were 0.77% lower than in June 2026, when they totalled $141.522m. The monthly difference was about $1.09m.

The change is small, but imports fell both year on year and month on month. Together, the figures suggest that spending on imported handsets slowed slightly at the beginning of the new fiscal year.

One month of data is not enough to identify a lasting trend. The PBS figures for the following months will show whether July’s decline continues or proves temporary.
