The Punjab Disaster Management Authority has issued a flood alert fact sheet in light of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's instructions, providing crucial data on monsoon rainfall, river water levels and dam statuses. The PDMA spokesman warned of monsoon rains in most Punjab districts within the next 24 hours, with a high risk of flash flooding in Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, and Bahawalpur divisions. He said PDMA is closely monitoring water levels in rivers and dams and said that in the Indus River there is a low level flood at Tarbela, Kalabagh and Chashma, while there is a medium level flood in Taunsa. He further informed water flow in river Chenab Ravi Sutlej and Jhelum while the rivers of Dera Ghazi Khan also at normal flow. In the report, the Director General PDMA Irfan Kathia said the PDMA and administration are on high alert due to the possible flood situation and all necessary arrangements have been completed in light of the flood risk.
