Pakistan Invites Russian Firms to Invest in Key Industries

Yekaterinburg: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, has extended an invitation to Russian companies to invest in Pakistan's electric vehicles, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural machinery sectors. He conveyed this during discussions with Russian Minister for Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

According to Radio Pakistan, the talks included a review of the technical aspects and support mechanisms needed to revitalize Pakistan Steel Mills. The discussions also focused on strengthening bilateral trade ties and industrial partnerships. Haroon Akhtar Khan is leading a high-level Pakistani delegation attending the annual INNOPROM Industrial Forum in Russia.

The Pakistani delegation briefed Russian officials on the country's new Industrial Policy, which aims to facilitate foreign investment and boost local manufacturing. Meetings were also held with Russian companies interested in mineral exploration in Pakistan, highlighting the country's rich natural resources and investor-friendly environment.

The visit underscores opportunities for enhancing industrial cooperation between Pakistani and Russian enterprises, with an emphasis on potential joint ventures. This visit represents a positive move towards deeper industrial and economic collaboration between Pakistan and Russia.
