Islamabad: Pakistan and Iran have decided to further enhance bilateral trade, border cooperation, and humanitarian initiatives. This decision came during a meeting between Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Syed Imran Ahmad Shah and Ambassador of Iran, Raza Amiri Moghadam in Islamabad today.

According to Radio Pakistan, both sides addressed trade-related challenges between the two nations, focusing on border hurdles and infrastructure gaps. The discussions highlighted the importance of overcoming these challenges to facilitate smoother trade exchanges.

The Iranian Ambassador noted that Iran has increased the import of Pakistani rice by nearly ten percent. The Minister welcomed this initiative, viewing it as a constructive move towards strengthening economic relations between Pakistan and Iran.

Furthermore, the Minister stressed the urgent need for development in Balochistan and the border areas of Iran. He emphasized that enhancing facilities and opportunities for local populations in these areas should be a priority, aiming to improve the quality of life and economic opportunities for residents.
