Punjab: Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat clarified that no school is being privatized and rumors are being spread in this regard. He stated this during a meeting with columnists in Lahore. According to Radio Pakistan, Rana Sikandar Hayat emphasized that privatization and outsourcing are two different things and it has been decided to run schools with poor performance under public-private partnership. He assured that outsourced schools are still owned by the state. The Education Minister announced that the Matric-Tech programme is starting from March. He highlighted that due to changing trends, IT education has become necessary and is being incorporated into the curriculum. Additionally, commerce colleges are being converted into e-commerce colleges to keep up with the evolving educational needs.
