Pakistan's two- and three-wheeler market has expanded sharply in the current fiscal year, with sales jumping by nearly one-third, signalling a significant rebound in consumer demand despite uneven performance among manufacturers.
Figures released by the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association show that sales of motorbikes and three-wheelers rose by 30.91% during July-February 2025-26. Total units sold reached 1,262,868, compared with 964,611 in the same period last year.
The surge was led by strong gains among major producers. Honda motorcycle sales climbed by 33.32%, reaching 1,081,802 units from 811,395 units. Suzuki also recorded a notable increase of 42.21%, with volumes rising to 23,137 units from 16,269 units.
United Auto maintained upward momentum, with its motorcycle sales growing by 28.03% to 118,189 units. In contrast, Yamaha experienced a sharp contraction, with sales dropping to 1,333 units from 3,587 units, marking a steep decline within the segment.
Three-wheeler sales presented a more mixed picture. United Auto's output increased modestly from 711 units to 969 units, while Qingqi registered a 6.16% rise, reaching 7,642 units. However, Sazgar's three-wheeler sales slipped slightly by 1.59%, falling to 17,278 units from 17,558 units.
The overall expansion underscores a broad-based recovery in the two- and three-wheeler market, though disparities among brands highlight an uneven distribution of demand across the sector.
