Pakistan's information and communication technology sector has recorded robust export growth, reinforcing its position as a leading contributor to the country's services surplus. Data released by the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan show that ICT export remittances rose by 19.7% to $2.97bn during July-February FY2025-26, compared with $2.48bn in the same period last year. The increase highlights sustained momentum in external earnings from the sector. Monthly performance remained strong. ICT exports reached $365m in February 2026, marking a 19.3% year-on-year increase and indicating continued expansion in overseas receipts. The sector also posted a substantial trade surplus of $2.55bn, accounting for 86% of total ICT export remittances. This underscores its role as the top-performing segment within Pakistan's services economy. The figures point to a consistent upward trajectory for ICT exports, with strong growth in both cumulative and monthly terms supporting the broader services sector.
