A small listed yarn maker is choosing to rent its way to growth. The board of Arctic Textile Mills Limited has approved leasing a spinning unit at what it described as a market-competitive rate, as part of efforts to expand its business. The decision, taken at a board meeting on Saturday August 1st 2026, was disclosed to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) as material information.
The filing was made under Sections 96 and 131 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1(a) of the PSX rule book, which require listed companies to promptly report developments that could affect their share price or investors' decisions.
Leasing offers a route to additional capacity without the upfront cost of building or buying a mill. By taking on an existing spinning unit, the company can add production while keeping capital outlays lower than outright ownership would require.
Arctic Textile Mills was incorporated on February 27th 1986 under the Companies Ordinance, 1984, since replaced by the Companies Act, 2017, and listed on the PSX on October 30th 1989. It manufactures and deals in all types of yarn and also trades in fabric and made-up textile products.
The disclosure was sparse on specifics. It did not name the spinning unit's location or owner, nor did it reveal its capacity, the lease terms, the rent or the duration of the arrangement. Those details will determine how far the move expands the company's output and whether the cost proves as competitive as the board suggests.
