World Teachers’ Day was observed across the globe on Thursday.

The theme of the day for this year is “the teachers we need for the education we want: The global imperative to reverse the teacher shortage”.

In his message on the occasion, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf said teachers have a key role in building a civilized and educated society.

He said teaching is a very prestigious field and it is a matter of honor to be associated with it.

The Speaker said the nations that give teachers their rightful place in society always achieve success.
