Pakistan's sports goods exports climbed 11.10% in the first half of FY2025-26, reaching $207.803m, even as shipments contracted sharply in December, reflecting uneven momentum within one of the country's key value-added sectors.
According to figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, outbound sales of sporting equipment totalled $207.803m during July-December 2025-26, compared with $187.049m in the same period last year.
Footballs remained the dominant contributor to export growth. Earnings from football exports increased 17.20%, rising from $111.520m to $130.701m. The category provided the largest boost to overall performance during the six-month period.
Other sports products also posted gains, advancing 14.07% to $48.971m from $42.931m a year earlier. However, gloves exports declined by 13.70%, falling from $32.598m to $28.131m, partially offsetting broader gains.
The monthly data for December 2025 indicate a slowdown. Sports goods exports dropped 11.74% year-on-year, slipping to $28.469m from $32.256m in December 2024.
During the same month, football and glove shipments fell by 12.98% and 30.73% respectively. In contrast, other sporting items recorded a 5.65% increase.
On a month-on-month basis, December exports decreased 10.06%, compared with $31.562m in November 2025.
The latest data underscore a mixed trajectory for Pakistan's sports goods sector, with solid expansion over the first half of the fiscal year tempered by a notable December contraction.
