Pakistan's well-heeled car buyers finally know what electrified luxury will cost them. NexGen Auto, a subsidiary of Nishat Group, has priced the OMODA 7 SHS-P plug-in hybrid SUV at an ex-factory Rs10.649m. The announcement ends months of teasers since the vehicle first appeared at the PakWheels Auto Show in Karachi, and places the brand's flagship firmly in the premium tier of the compact-SUV market.
The car combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor, producing a combined output of around 341 horsepower and 525Nm of torque, according to the company. An 18.4kWh battery is claimed to deliver more than 90km of all-electric driving, enough for most daily commutes.
For longer journeys, the company quotes a combined petrol-electric range of up to 1,250km. It is marketing the SUV as a vehicle for buyers who want the efficiency of electrification without anxiety about running out of charge. The specification is lavish. Features include reclining "Stargazing Zero Gravity" seats, a 12-speaker Sony audio system, illuminated front-bumper lights, a sliding "Star Rail" screen, eight-point massage seats, fragrance dispensers and 20-inch alloy wheels with a T-type spare. NexGen describes the package as one of the most comprehensive available in Pakistan.
The price is locked until August 31st 2026. Buyers can book online or through 20 OMODA and JAECOO dealerships across the country.
The launch completes the line-up NexGen unveiled a year ago. On August 1st 2025, at an event at the Expo Centre in Lahore led by Nishat founder Mian Mohammad Mansha, the company introduced the OMODA and JAECOO brands with five models: the Omoda E5, Jaecoo J6, Jaecoo J7, Omoda 7 and Jaecoo J5. All five are now on sale. The company reports a brisk start. According to NexGen, Pakistan recorded the highest first-month sales of any OMODA and JAECOO market worldwide, and deliveries in the country have exceeded 10,000 vehicles within the first year.
Globally, the brands have entered 64 markets in under three years and are approaching 1m total sales, the company says, with Pakistan among the fastest-growing.
At more than Rs10m, the OMODA 7 is aimed at a narrow slice of the market. Its reception will show whether demand for premium plug-in hybrids in Pakistan extends beyond early enthusiasts, and whether the brand's strong first year can be sustained at the top end of its range.
