Lucky Motor Partners With GAC To Launch Electric Vehicles In Pakistan

Pakistan's automotive sector is set for a shift towards electric mobility as Lucky Motor Corporation enters into a strategic partnership with a major Chinese manufacturer to introduce new energy vehicles.

Lucky Motor Corporation has signed an exclusive agreement with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co Ltd (GAC) to bring its electric vehicle brands, including Aion and Hyptec, into the Pakistani market. The partnership grants the local firm rights to launch and distribute these models domestically.

GAC, a state-owned enterprise and a long-standing Fortune 500 company, is recognised for producing vehicles for global brands in China as well as developing its own electric vehicle portfolio. Its Aion and Hyptec lines rank among the country's leading new energy vehicle brands.

Under the agreement, Lucky Motor plans to introduce vehicles equipped with advanced battery technology, alongside supporting infrastructure such as battery lifecycle management and commercial battery-swapping stations. Details on product offerings, rollout timelines and dealership networks are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Company officials described the collaboration as part of a broader strategy to strengthen the automotive ecosystem through technology transfer and industrial partnerships. Executives from both sides emphasised the potential for expanding sustainable transport options and supporting long-term sector development.

The move reflects growing interest in electric mobility within Pakistan, with the partnership positioning both firms to tap into an emerging market for cleaner and technology-driven transportation solutions.
