Lucky Investments Wins Top AM1 Rating Barely 18 Months After Opening Its Doors

A newcomer to Pakistan's fund-management industry has climbed to the top of the ratings ladder at unusual speed. Lucky Investments Limited, a Shariah-compliant asset manager, has been awarded an AM1 rating by the Pakistan Credit Rating Agency (PACRA), the agency's highest grade for asset managers. The company achieved the distinction less than a year and a half after it began operations in April 2025.

An AM1 rating represents PACRA's strongest opinion of an asset manager's quality. It reflects assessments of governance, investment and risk management, operational standards, internal controls, financial strength and institutional capacity.

The company attributes the rating to disciplined execution and its commitment to Islamic investing. It also cites the confidence of investors, sponsors, regulators and business partners as a factor in its rapid rise.

Growth has certainly been swift. Lucky Investments says its assets under management have passed Rs126bn since it started operating. It has launched a range of mutual funds and pension funds and introduced a mobile application, Lucky Funds, to give customers easier access to its products.

The firm has also widened its geographic reach and struck strategic partnerships aimed at extending Shariah-compliant investment options across the country. It describes itself as one of Pakistan's fastest-growing Islamic asset-management companies.

Those claims are the company's own, and the announcement did not include comparative figures for rival fund managers. Still, a top-tier rating from PACRA in such a short time is a notable achievement. The challenge now will be to sustain the standards that earned it as the firm continues to expand.
