Islamabad: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has stated that export-led growth remains the government’s top priority. Addressing a conference in Islamabad today, he emphasized the importance of enhancing the country’s trade portfolio and accessing new markets through strategic initiatives.
According to Radio Pakistan, Iqbal highlighted the significant impact of the GSP Plus scheme, which has allowed Pakistan to diversify its trade avenues. Over the past decade, Pakistan’s exports to the European Union have witnessed substantial growth, more than doubling to nearly ten billion dollars. He stressed the need to capitalize on this opportunity by focusing on high-end garments and technology-driven products to achieve the desired export-led growth targets.
