Daraz Pakistan has unveiled a three-month support initiative for sellers affected by the recent Gul Plaza fire, offering digital storefront access, warehousing and subsidised logistics in a bid to stabilise livelihoods disrupted by the tragedy.
Announced under its social impact arm, Daraz Cares, the programme is designed to help impacted merchants resume operations and reconnect with customers across Pakistan.
The company said it will create a dedicated segment and page on its platform-both app and desktop-to enable consumers to identify and directly support businesses harmed by the incident. It will also facilitate onboarding for affected traders and provide targeted training to assist them in restarting online operations.
To ease immediate logistical constraints, Daraz will provide warehouse space for sellers requiring storage of current or incoming inventory. Subsidised delivery services will be offered to address operational bottlenecks.
In addition, the firm pledged free on-site and digital marketing support, leveraging its own channels to help sellers rebuild visibility and regain commercial momentum. A dedicated incubation and assistance track will provide hands-on guidance and sustained support as businesses attempt to stabilise.
The relief framework is set to remain in place for three months, covering the Ramazan and Eid period, which is typically a critical trading season.
Ehsan Saya, Managing Director of Daraz Pakistan, described Gul Plaza as more than a commercial venue, calling it a longstanding centre of livelihoods and entrepreneurial activity. He noted that many connected sellers were among the earliest to adopt digital commerce through the platform.
Gul Plaza has served as a key business hub in Karachi and forms part of Daraz Pakistan's wider seller ecosystem, including direct merchants and home-based entrepreneurs who source products there for nationwide sales.
For numerous families and small enterprises, the fire has disrupted trade and placed income streams under strain. The initiative reflects an effort to mitigate those consequences by integrating physical traders into digital retail channels while they recover.
