Islamabad: Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has urged the Asian Development Bank to develop a judicial information system for Pakistan. He was talking to a delegation from the Asian Development Bank Pakistan Mission, led by Senior Director Tariq Niazi, in Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister recommended the establishment of a comprehensive police information system to integrate all 1,500 police stations in the country. This proposed system aims to include details of each station’s jurisdiction and streamline operations to enhance efficiency. He emphasized that technology should be utilized to expose discrepancies in a way that eliminates human manipulation, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Furthermore, Ahsan Iqbal urged the ADB to increase the concessional financing limit for Pakistan, highlighting the severe economic repercussions of climate change that the country is facing. He identified export expansion as a critical challenge for Pakistan’s economy and sought ADB’s assistance in c
reating programs to drive export growth.
