Trading Corporation of Pakistan awards contract to purchase 10,000MT sugar

Karachi: Trading Corporation of Pakistan TCP Tuesday awarded contracts to purchase 10,000MT sugar from mills. In response to its January 23, 2012 tender on 100,000MT sugar purchase, TCP received 53 bids from mills quoting rates from Rs 45720 to Rs 50000 per MT. All bids, opened today were found responsive in terms of prescribed evaluation criteria. Hunza Sugar Mills Unit-I & Hunza Sugar Mills Unit-II offered equal lowest price of Rs 45720 PMT each for 5000MT.

Being lowest and conforming to all tender terms, conditions, offers of these mills were accepted and were awarded contracts, accordingly, for 10,000 MT. To complete purchase of total quantity of sugar, rest of bidders who quoted high rate in tender were asked to match lowest bid price by Wednesday Feb. 1. Award of further contracts will be considered decided on receipt of bid matching response from concerned mills, TCP press release said.
