Pakistan's tractor industry has experienced a notable downturn in the current fiscal year, with both production and sales falling significantly compared to last year's levels.

Figures released by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association show that total tractor output during July-February 2025-26 stood at 18,825 units, down from 22,554 units in the corresponding period a year earlier. Sales followed a similar trajectory, declining to 17,151 units from 21,692 units.

The contraction was evident across major manufacturers. Production by FIAT Al-Ghazi dropped to 6,798 units from 8,513 units in the same period last year. Its sales also fell markedly, reaching 5,587 units compared with 8,111 units previously.

Massay Ferguson, another key producer, recorded output of 12,027 units, down from 14,041 units a year earlier. Sales of its tractors declined to 11,584 units from 13,581 units during the same timeframe.

The figures indicate a broad-based slowdown in the agricultural machinery segment, with both leading manufacturers reporting reduced activity. The parallel drop in production and sales suggests weakening demand within the sector during the period under review.
