Tight security measures taken to maintain law and order during Muharam-ul-Harram in Quetta

Tight security measures have been taken to maintain law and order and avert any untoward incident in Balochistan including the provincial metropolis, Quetta during the month of Muharam-ul-Harram.

Deputy Inspector General Police Abdul Razzaq Cheema told Radio Pakistan Quetta on Saturday that for this purpose three thousand personnel of security forces would be deployed on the occasion of mourning processions on 7th Muharam-ul-Harram while five thousand will be deployed on Ashura day.

Replying to a question, he said that a control room equipped with CCTV cameras has also formally been set up to keep constant vigilance on the routes of mourning processions and all exit and entry points.

He added that religious scholars of all sects have been taken into confidence to maintain religious harmony during the Holy month.
