Slapping of PSA on Samad Inqilabi denounced

Srinagar, June 07, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi has strongly condemned the slapping of black law, Public Safety Act (PSA), on its illegally detained Chairman and Hurriyat leader, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, for the third time and lodging him to Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu.

A spokesman of Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Indian police had arrested Abdul Samad Inqilabi in December 2018 from Dorgripora, Pulwama, and subsequently booked him under the PSA. He said that the court quashed the illegal detention of the party Chairman twice, however, on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, the occupation authorities again slapped him with the black law for the third time in a row.

The spokesman termed the action as the worst example of human rights violation. He denounced the subjecting of Kashmiri detainees to torture in jails particularly those lodged at Kot Bhalwal Jail.

The spokesman expressed concern over the deteriorating health of the unlawfully detained Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail. He said that detentions and other repressive measures by India would not be able to suppress the Kashmiris’ freedom sentiment. He also paid rich tributes to the Kashmiri youth who were recently martyred by Indian troops in different areas of the occupied territory.
