Saudi Ministry of Hajj has closed the issuance of permit for Umrah amid Hajj season ahead.
According to the Ministry, all pilgrims on Umrah visas are required to leave holy city of Makkah by 20th Dhul Qadah.
Earlier, the General Directorate of Public Security announced an entry ban to the holy city of Makkah for residents who don’t hold a special entry pass for the Hajj season.
The ban came into force from the 25th of Shawwal in implementation of the guidelines for organizing Hajj 1444AH.
Under the guidelines, the vehicle and expatriate residents will be returned to where they came from unless they they hold entry permit issued by the competent authority to work in the holy sites.
According to local media, the General Directorate of Passports has already started receiving applications for issuing entry permits to the holy city electronically for domestic workers, non-Saudi family members, seasonal work visa holders and contractors.
