Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement was declared as a proscribed entity for its involvement in anti-state activities. Talking to the media in Islamabad, he said Pashtun Tahafuz Movement was involved in burning Pakistan's flags, attacking country's foreign missions, and accepting foreign funding. He said PTM had also maintained close coordination with terrorist organizations like the Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. The Minister said the cabinet approved banning the PTM after assessing all the evidence. He said no party will be allowed to promote anti-Pakistan agenda. He, however, said there is no bar on peaceful protests or constructive criticism but burning of national flag, assaulting Pakistan's embassies abroad, and terror financing cannot be tolerated. Attaullah Tarar urged the misguided elements to return to the national mainstream and play their active role in Pakistan's development and progress. Source: R adio Pakistan
