Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the devastating floods in Malaysia. In a statement, he expressed solidarity with Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the people of Malaysia. According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized the long-standing and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Malaysia. He acknowledged that the Malaysian Prime Minister is a friend of Pakistan and assured that in this time of crisis, Pakistan will not leave Malaysia alone. Shehbaz Sharif further stated that Pakistan stands with the people of Malaysia during this time of grief. He pledged that Pakistan will do whatever it can to assist its Malaysian brothers and sisters in their time of distress. The Prime Minister also highlighted the adverse effects of climate change, which are impacting the entire world, and stressed the need for collective action to mitigate its impacts.
