Pakistan’s Chartered Accountants Sign Cooperation Agreement With Azerbaijan’s Auditors

Pakistan's accounting profession is expanding its international links. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Chamber of Auditors of Azerbaijan Republic (CAAR). The two bodies say the agreement will strengthen cooperation between the accounting and auditing professions of their countries.

ICAP's president, Samiullah Siddiqui, and CAAR's chairman, Vahid Novruzov, signed the agreement. Both organisations described it as the start of a new phase of cooperation.

The agreement was signed in Baku during celebrations of CAAR's 30th anniversary. The event included an international conference titled "Stages of Audit Development: The Path from Compliance to Strategic Partnership and Trust".

ICAP said its participation in the conference showed its continued engagement with international audit and accounting bodies. It said this work aims to improve professional standards and cross-border cooperation.

The MoU sets out a general intention to cooperate but does not specify any programmes, exchanges or timelines. Its practical value will depend on whether the two organisations agree on concrete joint activities.
