Pakistan-Japan mutual trade’s chances, opportunities discussed

SIALKOT: A delegation of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Japan visited Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here on Thursday and discussed in details the matters of mutual interests with Sialkot business community.

The Japanese delegation consisted of Hiroshi Tajima, Director Southwest Asia Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Japan, Ms. Wakana Kanikawa, Assistant Chief Officer Ministry of Foreign Affairs Japan and Kaoru Magosaki, Counsellor and Head of Economic & Development Section Embassy of Japan Islamabad.

They also find the chances and opportunities of promoting the mutual trade between Pakistan and Japan, besides assuring the easy access of Sialkot exporters to the international Japanese markets.

The Japanese delegates said that the Japan was intending to develop the mutual trade ties with Pakistan, saying that the Japan would bring maximum industrial investment in Pakistan soon.

Japan would provide full technical assistance and guidance for modernizing the Sialkot’s export industries, saying that the exporters of Sialkot have a great potential to explore and capture the international trade markets of Japan by exporting their diversified traditional and non-traditional export products. They said that Japan will ensure the easy access of Sialkot based exporters to the international Japanese trade markets through the Karachi based Pak-Japan Business Forum.

During his recent visit to SCCI on December 09, 2012, Ambassador of Japan in Pakistan Hirsohi Oe had assured the Sialkot business community to make all-out efforts for promoting the “soft image” of Pakistan globally to boost its economy, saying that there was a dire need of promoting the soft image of Pakistan after its war against terrorism.
