‘Pak-India dialogue sans Kashmiris will bear no fruit’

Srinagar, December 13, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of National Peoples Party (NPP), Syed Salim Gilani has said that without participation of Kashmiri people in any of the talks between India and Pakistan will never ever bear the fruits. Syed Salim Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said only way to resolve the Kashmir dispute was either through the tripartite talks among main stakeholders to the Kashmir dispute i.e. India, Pakistan and the Kashmiri people or by implementing the United Nation resolutions. He said history bears the witness that right from 1947 all the bilateral talks between India and Pakistan were the futile exercises towards the settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute.

Gilani said that Kashmir was a political dispute and needed to be addressed trough political grounds instead of military might or traditional stubbornness. He said for the last seven decades people of Kashmir have given numerous sacrifices and such sacrifices will never be allowed to go waste. Meanwhile, Syed Salim Gilani, while leading a delegation, visited the residence of Manzoor Ahmad Butt, who recently passed away and expressed sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family.
