National Accountability Bureau arrests Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government officials for embezzlement of funds

Islamabad, August 20, 2015 (PPI-OT):NAB KP today arrested Gulzar-ur-Rehman, the then Divisional Forest Officer Chitral presently working as Assistant Professor Forest College Peshawar, Prince Khalid Pervez, Member District Council Chitral, Noor Shahideen, Rehmat Karim, Malak Shaye. They are allegedly involved in Embezzlement of 76 million rupees by depriving the genuine concessionists of their due right of Forest Royalty in connivance with each other.

On the complaint of poor concessionists of locality from Chitral, NAB KP initiated inquiry, in which it was revealed, that as per policy of Forest Department /Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Forest Royalty shall be distributed amongst the concessionists of the locality equally through Joint forest Management Committee, nevertheless Noor Shahideen (Private Person) made a fake Joint Forest Management Committee (JFMC) and fraudulently made himself Chairman of the committee through the active connivance of other accused persons.

The accused persons later on diverted and embezzled an amount of Rs. 76.00 Million through complex banking transactions and pocketed the same. NAB KP actively perusing the case. The accused persons will be produced before Accountability Court Peshawar for obtaining their physical remand.
