Ministry of Climate Change today signed the Nitric Acid Climate Action Group Statement of Undertaking, committing to reduce nitrous oxide emissions in the country's nitric acid industry. Prime Minister's Coordinator on Climate Change Romina Khurshid Alam witnessed the SoU signing ceremony in Islamabad. After signing of the statement, a private fertilizer plant in Multan has become eligible for financial support from the group's secretariat to install catalysts for mitigating nitrous oxide emissions and measuring technology in its production facilities. Addressing the SoU signing ceremony, Romina Khurshid Alam reiterated Pakistan's commitment to reduce the country's greenhouse gas emissions by aligning national actions with international agreements.
