Kashmir Intifada: Another youth succumbs, death toll 101

Srinagar, September 15, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, a youth who was wounded in Indian troops’ firing on protesters in Kulgam earlier this month succumbed to his serious injuries at Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar, today.

Rashid Ahmed Butt son of Mohammed Yousuf Butt of Akhran, Nowpora in district Kulgam sustained critical injuries when Indian forces fired upon the protesters on September 5.

Today, Butt succumbed to the serious injuries, taking the death toll in the ongoing Intifada to 101.

Thousands of people mostly youth have been wounded in the ongoing Intifada in the territory due to the firing of pellets, bullets and teargas shells by Indian police and troops on protesters. The Intifada started after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Burhan Wani on July 8, this year.
