Indian army raids on leaders’ houses denounced

Srinagar, December 16, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has said that the puppet administration has given a free hand to the Indian Army to intimidate and harass Hurriyet leaders and activists. Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Indian troops were conducting frequent raids on the house of Tehreek-e-Hurriyet President in Shopian, Mohammad Amin Ahangar. He said that it was a serious issue because the army had a very bad track record of killing innocent civilians. He warned of serious consequences if any untoward incident occurred as a result of provocative role given to the Indian army by the authorities.

The All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, addressing the APHC Executive Council meeting in Srinagar, today, expressed the hope that Pakistan and India would show seriousness in resolving all issues including the Kashmir dispute. He said that Kashmir was a political dispute, which was concerning the future of the millions of Kashmiri people.

Meanwhile, a large number of people including Hurriyet leaders and activists Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Zafar Akbar Butt, Javaid Ahmad Mir, Nisar Hussain Rather, Muhammad Rafiq Ganai, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Farooq Ahmad Khan, Mohammad Iqbal Mir, Mohammad Ahsan Untoo and Abdul Rauf Khan visited martyrs’ graveyard at Eidgah in Srinagar and paid tributes to renowned Mujahid commanders, Shamsul Haq and Abdul Khaliq Ganai alias Jamal Afghani, on their martyrdom anniversaries, today.

Speaking on the occasion, the leaders said that the sacrifices rendered by the Kashmiri people for the Kashmir cause would not be allowed to go waste and the ongoing freedom movement would be taken to its logical conclusion at all costs. The Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League in a statement in Srinagar said that the puppet authorities were prolonging the illegally detention of its Chairman, Masarrat Aalam Butt. It said that the authorities did not present Masarrat Aalam before a court in Srinagar on the hearing of a false case registered against him.
