Incentives for killer Indian troops in occupied Kashmir

Srinagar, September 27, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, sensing that fatigue among Indian Army personnel could force them to give in to the ongoing uprising and they may refuse to continue their job in the territory, India is working on a comprehensive incentive policy to boost the morale of its demoralizing forces’ personnel.

This policy includes giving the personnel out of turn promotions, cash incentives, enhanced career prospects and gallantry medals. This will encourage troops, who enjoy impunity under black laws for their crimes in occupied Kashmir, to quell protests and kill protesters with more greed.

As per the reports of Indian media, now a uniform policy is being planned by which if the troops on the ground execute any major operation they will be entitled to such incentives.

The Indian Ministries of Home and Defence feel that a uniform incentive policy will act as great morale booster and encourage the troops on the ground to perform better even in a high pressure situation.

Senior defence experts argue that troops from the paramilitary and Army operating in areas like the Kashmir Valley often have to put in long working hours without adequate rest or leave which often leads to increasing cases of stress and fatigue that in turn cause momentary lapse of concentration. This is one of the reasons why even incidents like the Uri attack also happen, a senior official said.

Due to stress and frustration, the trend of committing suicide or fratricide is very common among Indian Army and paramilitary personnel.
