Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan says the provincial government is taking effective steps for elimination of environmental pollution in the province.
In a statement on the occasion of “World Environment Day” being celebrated, the Chief Minister said the provincial government has successfully completed the target of the Billion Trees Project.
He said one billion saplings have been planted for the last five years which were highly appreciated by the world community.
Mahmood Khan said one billion more saplings will be planted in the province under the federal government project of ten billion Trees Tsunami Project in the country.
The Chief Minister urged the general public and representatives of civil societies to actively participate in the tree plantation campaign to tackle environmental challenges in a befitting manner.
