Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh has stressed the need for a unified approach to address Kashmir and Palestine issues. He made these remarks while addressing a gathering to commemorate Kashmir Black Day in Washington, DC. Messages from President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar were read on the occasion. Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh expressed hope that recent US elections might lead to a resolution of violence in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories. He referenced UN Security Council Resolution 122, advocating for a UN-supervised plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir. The Ambassador also called upon the international community and human rights organizations to play their role in not only highlighting the plight of Kashmiris but also facilitating a solution to the long-standing issue. Other speakers included leaders from various organizations, all underscoring the legitimate struggle for self-determi nation in Kashmir.
