Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal inaugurated Seventh Agricultural Census in Islamabad today. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Ahsan Iqbal said digital agricultural census will enhance agricultural produce in line with the growing population. He highlighted importance of agricultural statistics for a predominantly agrarian country like Pakistan and praised Pakistan Bureau of Statistics for introducing an automated local system. Ahsan Iqbal said data collected will be instrumental in formulating agricultural policies, identifying areas with potential for increased productivity and providing necessary resources to achieve better yields.
