DFP condemns continued illegal detention of Shabbir Shah

Srinagar, November 26, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has condemned the continued illegal detention of its Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah. The DFP Secretary General, Maulana Abdullah Tari, in a statement issued in Srinagar said the puppet Chief Minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed’s so-called slogan of ‘battle of ideas’ proved hollow even since its inception as the pro-freedom leaders, Syed Ali Gilani and Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, continued to remain under house arrest while Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Raja Merajuddin Kalwal, Ayaz Akbar and many others were lodged in police stations.

Maulana Abdullah Tari said that the puppet rulers instead of competing with the pro-freedom leaders on political platform were resorting to repressive tactics and keeping the resistance leadership behind the bars. The DFP Secretary General while condemning the arrest spree and raids across the territory launched by Indian police and troops said that Palhallan area of Baramulla had been made target of political vengeance.

“We assure the brave people of Palhallan that we will never leave them alone. The Mufti Sayeed-led administration cannot break our resolve through such repressive measures. This area has a great contribution towards the freedom struggle,” he added.
