Courtesy Call on the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs by Mr. Iwan Suyudhie Amri, the Ambassador of Indonesia

The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Pakistan, Mr. Iwan Suyudhie Amri paid his first courtesy call on the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Syed Tariq Fatemi today. Their discussions covered all aspects of bilateral relations and regional developments.

The SAPM underlined the importance Pakistan attaches to its relation with Indonesia. Highlighting the high-level political exchanges, the SAPM mentioned the visit of the President of Pakistan to Indonesia in March 2016, which provided the two sides with an opportunity to review the existing state of bilateral relations and to exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Commending the efforts of the Indonesian government in its campaign against terrorism and dismantling terrorist network, the SAPM emphasized the need for enhanced cooperation in counter-terrorism between Pakistan and Indonesia.

The SAPM stressed that Pakistan is committed to cultivating a cooperative and mutually beneficial relationship with ASEAN.

The SAPM assured the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia of the full cooperation and assistance by the Government of Pakistan to him in his efforts to enhance the bilateral ties between the two countries.
