Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb participated in the high-level event 'Growing Stronger: An Urgent Call to Improve Child Nutrition,' in Washington DC on Friday. The event was organized by the World Bank. During the event, the Finance Minister highlighted the high incidence of child stunting in Pakistan, particularly in rural areas, and called for a multi-sectoral and whole-of-government approach to address the issue. He emphasized the importance of reforms in taxation, reductions in energy subsidies, and improved management of SOEs to create fiscal space for increased investments in climate change, population control, and reducing child stunting.
