Agreement signed for Machike-Thalian-Taru Jabba White Oil Pipeline Project

Agreement for Machike-Thallian-Tarujabba White Oil Pipeline Project has been signed to complete the oil pipeline backbone of the country from Karachi to Peshawar.

The agreement was signed between stakeholders of the project including Pakistan State Oil and Frontier Works Organization at a ceremony in Islamabad today.

The 477-kilometer-long pipeline will connect Punjab from Machike, near Lahore, to Tarujabba, near Peshawar and consists of two segments which are Machike-Thallian and Thallian-Tarujabba along the Motorway.

It has connectivity options with Attock refinery, Chakpirana and Faqirabad.

It will complete the petroleum products supply chain from Karachi to Peshawar with initial carrying capacity of seven million tons per annum extendable to 10 million tons per annum.

The project aims to achieve energy efficient movement of petroleum products, preventing their adulteration and ensuring their increased safety.

The pipeline, covering a strategic route, is designed to reduce the dependency on road tran
sportation, minimize environmental impacts, and improve the overall efficiency of oil distribution.

Construction of the pipeline is expected to commence soon with partners committed to ensure that it is completed within stipulated timeline.

The pipeline project is a testament to the commitment of Petroleum Division and the Special Investment Facilitation Council to energy efficient movement of petroleum products.
