Islamabad: Acting President Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani has called on the media to educate the public about the crucial function of Ombudsmen offices in addressing public grievances. He emphasized this point after reviewing appeals against the decisions of Ombudsmen in Islamabad. According to Radio Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani highlighted that over the past six months, the President of Pakistan, through his representative, has resolved hundreds of cases. This effort has provided much-needed relief to various segments of society, including the underprivileged, widows, individuals with disabilities, and people from minority and remote communities, who have been affected by administrative misconduct. Gillani further noted that significant relief has been extended to both local citizens and overseas Pakistanis, particularly in the areas of taxation and banking. The acting president's remarks underscore the importance of Ombudsmen offices in promoting justice and accountability within the administrative frame work.
