25,000 tons urea reaches Gwadar Port

LAHORE: The first urea vessel, carrying 25,000 metric tons urea is reaching Gwadar Port on Monday, while the second ship, carrying equivalent quantity is scheduled to sail Al-Jubail Port on July 14 and will reach Gwadar Port on 18th of this month.

Against the urea imported through tender, two ships, carrying 50,000 metric tons and 25,000 metric tons urea are scheduled to sail from Yuzny Port, Ukraine and Bayuquan Port, China on July 9 and will arrive to Gwadar and Karachi Ports in 10 to 12 days time.

In pursuance of ECC of the Cabinet decision to meet urgent requirement of farmers for Rabi Crop, TCP has lined-up prompt import of 150,000 metric tons urea. Out of this, 100,000 metric tons has been procured through open tender whereas 50,000 metric tons is being imported from M/s Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) under the Saudi Fund for development credit facility.

Initially M/s. SABIC assured to supply the committed quantity of urea during second half of July, however, they have started the shipments well before their committed period.
