No advance payments to contractors: Minster Minorities Affairs

Karachi, September 01, 2018 (PPI-OT): Sindh Minister for Minorities Affairs, Social Welfare and Prisons Hari Ram Kishori Lal has said that no compromise would be accepted on development schemes and directed to ensure transparency, quality and timely completion of projects. While presiding over meeting on development schemes of minority affairs department, Provincial minister ordered to stop all kind of advance payments to contractors.

He said that contracts should be awarded to reputed contractors on merit adding that no influence or pressure should be entertained in this regard. “I have no contractor”, minister made it clear to officers. He also directed officers to strengthen regular monitoring system of development schemes so as to ensure quality and timely completion of schemes. Provincial Minister Hari Ram said that black list contractor who failed to produce quality work and used substandard material in development schemes.

“Planning of development schemes should be carried out in consultation with local Hindu Community, he said and added that it must be verified that applicant had the owner rights of land while constructing temples in rural areas of Sindh. Secretary Minorities Affairs Tameezuddin Khero, Exen Riaz Bhutto and Assistant Engineers of Minorities Affairs Department attended the meeting.

Delhi conspiring to change Kashmir’s demography: JKPM

Jammu, September 01, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM) has said that India is hatching one conspiracy after another to change the demography of the territory. APHC leader and the JKPM Chairman, Mir Shahid Saleem addressing protest rallies at several places in Pirpanchal region said that the people of Kashmir were ready to offer supreme sacrifices for their rights.

He said that the Indian government had miserably failed to crush the ongoing freedom movement in Kashmir despite the use of the worst kinds of state terrorism during the last over seven decades. He said that India was now hatching a fresh conspiracy to change the demographic character of Kashmir.

The JKPM Chairman said that people of Kashmir never accepted the illegal occupation of Kashmir by India and had been fighting for their right to self-determination. He said the way Kashmiri people have come on roads to resist the latest sinister move by India to change the demography of Kashmir was no less than a referendum against the Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.

Mir Shahid Saleem said the people have sent a loud and clear message to New Delhi and the world at large that they are ready to resist every move by New Delhi that results into strengthening and prolonging India’s illegal hold on Kashmir. The JKPM Chairman also thanked the people of Pirpanchal and Chenab Valley regions for showing an overwhelming response to the protest call given by the Joint Resistance Leadership.

Municipal polls from Oct 1, Panchayat from Nov 8 in IOK

Srinagar, September 01, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the State Administrative Council (SAC) headed by Governor, Satya Pal Malik, has decided that the elections to municipal bodies would be conducted in four phases with polling dates between October 1, 2018 and October 5, 2018 while elections to Panchayats will be conducted in eight phases between November 8 and December 4, 2018.

The State Administrative Council (SAC), which met in Srinagar under the chairmanship of Satya Pal Malik took the decision after extensive deliberations on various aspects and feedback received from the departments including Home, Housing and Urban Development, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.

The Chief Electoral Officer of the territory was asked to adjust the schedules keeping in view the polling requirements. Meanwhile, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) notified public and the political parties that the final publication of electoral rolls had been made on August 31, 2018 to be used for forthcoming municipal polls. Public notices were issued for revision of electoral rolls by filing claims and objections for addition, deletion, correction and transposition, as per the notified schedule.
