11th ITCN Asia 2011 starts at Karachi Expo Centre
KARACHI: 11th ITCN Asia 2011 International Exhibition & Conferences commenced Tuesday at Karachi Expo Centre. Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Speaker Sindh Assembly was the Chief Guest at the inauguration ceremony.
The 3-day event is organised by Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan; the only UFI (Paris) approved event organiser of Pakistan.
The chief guest and guest of honour visited the stalls and met domestic & foreign visitors and witnessed the products that are catered to various ages, needs and requirements. ICT products / services, telecommunications equipments, systems, networking, IT solutions, software / programs, office automation, latest PCs and laptops, mobile phones, multimedia devices and digital products were displayed in the exhibition.
Some of the major participants include Microsoft; Huawei Technologies; INTEL, NDMA, etc. Microsoft Open Door Event also began at ITCN Asia. The agenda was Future of Productivity on Cloud; Flexible Work style and Windows 8 Preview; Understanding Microsoft Private Cloud Strategy & Architecture; Microsoft Business Solutions; SQL Denali What’s new; Securing the Enterprise with Microsoft Forefront.
While addressing media, the chief guest said that selection of ITCN Asia in Karachi by Microsoft to hold its Open Door Event showed that Pakistan possessed immense potential in Information & Communication Technology and the event would contribute positively in tapping that potential.
P@SHA Launch Pad and Information Security Forum were also held with the theme “The Emerging Virtual Challenges & Threats” in strategic partnership with Pakistan Information Security Association (PISA-CERT). Sindh Rehabilitation Minister Haji Muzaffar Shajra; Chairman PTA, Dr. Mohammed Yaseen; Chairman SUPARCO, Major General (R) Ahmed Bilal and many other guests of honour also visited the event.
The chief guest while leaving the event wrote an endnote, “Expo Center of Karachi has positioned a wonderful opportunity to the youth of Sindh to avail the IT opportunities of the world. This world of IT is amazing which brings world at your feet in a second providing opportunities of business, interactions and that also online. I am happy to know that Karachi has taken a lead to this exhibition which is the biggest event in Pakistan.”
Participants from more than 15 countries including China, UAE, UK, USA, Singapore etc gathered at the platform.
Country Manager of Microsoft Pakistan, Kamal Ahmed; Deputy CEO, Huawei Technologies Pakistan (PVT) Ltd, Colin Hu; Economic Consular of Iran, Syed Hasan Alvi; President Ecommerce Gateway, Dr. Khursheed Nizam were also present at the occasion.
