Minister for Energy Khurram Dastgir has said Prime Minister has full authority to appoint Army Chief on merit.

Talking to a private television channel, he said Imran Khan is trying to make the matters of security institution controversial.

He said the selection of Army Chief would be made following the constitutional procedure.

In reply to a question, he said long march or protest demonstration is the right of PTI but action would be taken for violating law and order.
