The participants agreed that start-ups play an important role in fostering innovation, generating employment and supporting economic development. They also discussed the need for stronger financial, regulatory and institutional support to enable growing businesses to expand their operations and compete in international markets. Another key area of discussion was the promotion of Islamic start-ups and the expansion of Shariah-compliant investment opportunities through the development of Islamic capital market initiatives. The participants observed that global demand for ethical and Islamic financial products continues to grow and highlighted Pakistan's potential to develop as a regional centre for Islamic entrepreneurship and investment. Speaking during the meeting, Gauhar Zahid Malik said Pakistan offered significant opportunities for foreign investors and entrepreneurs. He stated that ongoing economic reforms, investor-friendly policies and improving market conditions were enhancing the country's attractiveness as an international investment destination. Hinza Asif emphasised the importance of strengthening business and investment linkages between Pakistan and Japan. She reaffirmed AWAJ's commitment to facilitating collaboration among international investors, technology companies and Pakistani start-ups to encourage innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable economic growth. They also agreed to continue exploring strategic partnerships aimed at creating new opportunities for investors, entrepreneurs and businesses in both Pakistan and Japan.
