Lucky Investments Launches Islamic Energy Fund To Tap Reforming Power Sector

Lucky Investments Limited has introduced the Lucky Islamic Energy Fund, a Shariah-compliant equity vehicle designed to channel capital into Pakistan's reforming energy sector at a time of rising demand and policy-driven transformation.

The new fund, branded as the Lucky Islamic Energy Fund (LIEF), is structured as a sector-focused, open-end equity scheme that will invest primarily in Shariah-compliant listed energy companies. The portfolio is set to span exploration and production, refining, power generation and renewable energy segments.

The launch comes amid gradual changes in Pakistan's energy landscape, influenced by increasing consumption, efficiency measures and a strategic shift toward renewable and sustainable sources. The fund seeks long-term capital appreciation by offering investors focused exposure to this critical segment of the economy.

Lucky Investments stated that the initiative expands its Islamic investment platform and supports the broader development of Pakistan's Shariah-aligned capital markets.

The asset manager currently oversees assets under management exceeding Rs130bn, reflecting strong investor participation and rapid growth during 2025.

Mohammad Shoaib, CFA, Chief Executive Officer of Lucky Investments Limited, described the energy industry as central to Pakistan's economic recovery and sustainability objectives. He noted that LIEF provides a faith-compliant pathway for investors seeking targeted participation in the sector.

The fund is benchmarked against the KMI-30 Index and is categorised as high risk, intended for investors with a long-term horizon. It does not impose a minimum holding period or redemption penalty, offering flexibility to participants.

All allocations will be supervised by Mufti Muhammad Hassaan Kaleem, the Shariah Advisor to Lucky Investments, ensuring adherence to Islamic principles within a structured governance and risk management framework.

The introduction of LIEF underscores Lucky Investments' emphasis on aligning capital allocation with priority economic sectors through disciplined and Shariah-compliant investment strategies.
