Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has given a deadline of three months for completion of the construction and development plan of Lahore on emergency basis.
Chairing a special meeting in Lahore today, she stressed that progress of the plan will be assessed every ten days.
The Chief Minister instructed the construction and repair of all major and minor roads in Lahore, and approved the project for pavement of streets in the city.
Maryam Nawaz also accorded approval in principle for restoration of 22,000 street lights in Lahore.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the rehabilitation, reconstruction, and repair of drainage and sewerage systems in nine zones of Lahore.
She directed to prepare a comprehensive plan for the sewerage master plan and water tank construction project, and has instructed WASA to provide necessary machinery and manpower for this purpose.
The Chief Minister further directed to progressively expand the coverage of WASA services to encompass all areas of Lahore, as well as ensure to mak
e operational all water filtration plants in the city.
She also urged the people to extend support to the government’s cleanliness drive.
