Chinese Tech Delegation Eyes Long Term IT Partnership With Pakistan

A senior Chinese technology delegation has opened discussions on long-term partnerships and investment in Pakistan's IT sector, signalling potential deeper collaboration in data centres, digital infrastructure and smart technologies. According to an official news release, a two-member team from the Leviathan Group met Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja to explore sustained cooperation and joint initiatives in the country's expanding digital economy. The delegation included Mingqian Sun, Chief Executive Officer of Leviathan Technologies, and Dinglin Mei, Senior Representative of the group. Leviathan focuses on big data centres, advanced digital solutions and smart technology platforms. Also present at the meeting were Zeeshan Qureshi, Chief Operating Officer of Capital Smart Innovations, and Khalid Taimur Akram, Adviser to the Chairman of HRL Group. During discussions, Sun outlined the company's technical expertise and proposed areas of collaboration, inc luding technology transfer and joint investment projects within Pakistan's information technology sector. Minister Khawaja reaffirmed the government's commitment to drawing foreign investment, expanding digital infrastructure and creating a conducive environment for international technology firms. She referred to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's Digital Nation Pakistan vision, which aims to establish the country as a regional centre for IT services, innovation and digital transformation. The visiting delegation acknowledged the existing policy framework and expressed interest in sustained engagement with Pakistani counterparts to identify potential projects and avenues for cooperation in the near future. Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination in order to explore concrete partnerships and reinforce technological and economic linkages between Pakistan and China, as Islamabad seeks to position its IT sector for long-term growth.
